WWBD?

My roommate got advance screening tickets to “Live Free or Die Hard” last night, so we went to see the new Bruce Willis action flick.

As we were standing in line waiting for the guy to give us wrist bands to guarantee our free admission, she mentioned that there was a tornado warning in effect for Johnson County.

She told me not to worry. The sky turns green before a tornado, she had said earlier in the day. I, being from a state where earthquakes are more common than tornadoes, was naturally scared. After all, the sky did look a little discolored, maybe a bit green, I thought.

I was told not to worry when it started raining hard. That typically means it will clear up, my roommate assured me. It was definitely a night to stay inside.

As I sat watching Bruce Willis beat-up bad guys, I couldn’t help but wonder about what the action hero would do in the face of severe weather. What would Bruce do?

He’d probably knock the wind out, shoot the rain, and ride the tornado. I’m not so brave. I've already located the nearest basements.

When I got back to my car at 10:15 p.m., I could see lightning in the distance. It lit up the entire sky. I’m not a fan of major storms, or horrible weather. I enjoy the occasional rain. It’s good for vegetation. But what we’ve had here since I arrived four weeks ago is insane.

I’m ready for some sunshine, even if it is accompanied by horrible heat. This wild weather is making me miss California, occasional shakes and all.

By the way, I highly recommend the movie.

Yippie-kay-ay! I think I may go see it on Friday.

I've lived in Texas my whole life and I'd like some California weather! I hate all this bad weather...1. it's humid. 2. it does my hair no favors and 3. it's humid. And I'm not a fan of storms either, unless I get to stay home and watch movies/read... and I work so I don't get to do that. I'm glad the movie was good though!

Lightning can be beautiful from a distance. If you get a chance, spend some time in West Texas this time of year. The thunderstorms are fantastic. Deep, booming thunder and a great light show for free. It doesn't get much better.
