The odd man out

Before I get into my first blog, I’ll make introductions. I'm Brent Worsham, the high school photography intern here at The Dallas Morning News. I will be a senior at Frisco High School in August, and I’m still not sure where I’m going to college. At this point, it's anywhere that will take me. This is my third week here, and I have to say it’s been fun. I’ve taken pictures of the Rangers, the Indy race and various other smaller events, but I’m definitely the odd man out, at least among the interns. Since the college photography intern has not yet appeared, I am the only photographer out of 17 other interns. So while everyone else is discussing “bylines” and “chasing down leads,” I’m talking about the things I went and “shot,” which always leads to weird looks and awkward questions. Oh well, such is the life of an intern: long hours, low pay, and the constant reminder from co-workers that Friday is the day the intern has to bring chocolate chip cookies for the entire staff.

Josh, you reading this? Chocolate chip cookies on Friday. Preferably from here: http://smu.dailyjolt.com/food/details.html?id=1697

You are not the odd man out... well, not anymore. Lunch next week maybe? I know I don't even know you, but it'd still be fun! We have all summer, we should definitely make some friends. Lemme know!
