The New Routine

For 12 years now, my morning ritual usually found me taking in the morning copy of SportsDay before I departed for school. With my transformation from late-to-wake summer student to 9-to-5 paycheck-earning member of the workforce, this practice has undoubtedly shifted, partially in thanks to the change in my commute (from something like this to something like this).

And since I make it a point to give myself plenty of time to commute (I refuse to allow poor I-35 traffic to be an excuse for tardiness), my morning routine now consists of reading a large portion of SportsDay from this very desk until my day officially begins at 9 a.m.

As for today though, I have a 10:30 a.m. planning meeting to begin discussing plans and themes for the High School Football preview in August. Word from editors is that I could contribute fairly substantially, even if it's just capsules on teams, and as an avid (some might say "diehard") high school football fan, I can not contain my excitement. Not to mention, I'll begin work on my two other stories this morning, including beginning research for my big summer project which, after certain events unfolded in the sporting world yesterday, is now official.

Is your "big summer project" starting a dog fighting arena?

Depends on whether or not we can get Pacman Jones or Chris Henry to officiate it.
