June 20 is what you would call a "Big Night." I'm going on assignment for the first time ever. Tonight, I'll be at the Meyerson Symphony Center to review Video Games Live. It's part two of my coverage of this event (part one is here). I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure things will be just fine. I wonder how the ubiquitous Super Mario Bros. theme (doot-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo-doo-doo...) will sound with coming from the Dallas Symphony, and not the supreme Nintendo system, in all its 8-bit glory.
I was also happy to find my Ghost Rider review online. Check it out here.
NONSENSICAL QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"I wasn't like every other kid, you know, who dreams about being an astronaut, I was always more interested in what bark was made out of on a tree. Richard Gere's a real hero of mine. Sting. Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music he's created over the years, I don't really listen to it, but the fact that he's making it, I respect that. I care desperately about what I do. Do I know what product I'm selling? No. Do I know what I'm doing today? No. But I'm here, and I'm gonna give it my best shot." - Owen Wilson in Zoolander
MEANINGFUL QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you." - Marianne Williamson
