Brown Bag crashers
Every week the interns have brown-bag sessions. Prior to the sessions they send us a reminder e-mail about when and where the session will be held. Now I did read that e-mail, I swear. BUT myself and a few of the other interns still managed to make a mistake. Usually the brown bags are held in the West Wing Conference Room so being creatures of habit, a few of the interns went there for the brown bag.
Too bad it was being held in the 4th floor executive conference room.
We didn't notice anything weird... except the fact that the room was filled with everyone except interns. Nonetheless we sat, ate pizza, and listened to a professor from the University of Minnesota talk about using the Internet to reach readers, when we were actually supposed to be learning about beat reporting. Regretfully we didn't realize this mistake until after the brown bag, but we did learn a lot of interesting information about the habits of online readers that will definitely be useful for a career in Web news.
Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson ain't got nothing on us.
