The start of my third week
There were no cards at my desk. No congratulatory emails. No balloons. Yet today is an important day, a watershed moment, if you will.
Today is the start of my third week at the paper. Yep, I can hardly belive it, too. I've written a few stories, videotaped an episode for "Try my job," blogged a little and started to learn how to edit video. I even received my first paycheck ("real life" journalists have to make more money than this, right??).
Today is also important because Josh Davis, another intern working for DallasNews.com, has arrived. It's an exciting time for interns around here. Belo has offered to pay for our lunch, which should be the last out of office lunch I take the rest of the internship. My meager salary can only support so much. Any suggestions for lunch? I was thinking something like this.
