My first interview

So, my first assignment now that the spelling bee got away from me is a story on how roller rinks in North Texas have continued to survive while rinks around the country have been shutting down. I'd been calling rinks around the area this morning, but, as expected, nearly all of them were closed.
Except Texas Skatium.
I called and the woman who picked up the phone said that the manager was pretty busy, but she said that I could probably get a few minutes of face-to-face time with her if I drove down there. So I was off to Garland.
Twenty minutes later, I arrived to a clerk informing me that the manager had left already. Fantastic. So, back to the car and on to I-30. All was alright until I wound up behind a chicken coop. In 2007. With my windows down. For a mile before I could change lanes. I thought things like this only happened in movies starring Muppets.
Between the stench and the feathers filling my car, I really considered getting my camera out for an action shot, but with my laughter and my driving, it probably wasn't safe. So a picture of the pamphlet will have to do for now. I'm going to go make sure there aren't any more feathers in my hair.
Comments
I'm looking over. No more feathers in your hair. No less either though.

I once got stuck behind a cattle carrier in the middle of summer on a two-lane country road somewhere around Throckmorton. I don't have A/C in my car. I guess you can imagine the smell.
Anyway, I feel your pain.

Oops, that would be every fourth Friday of the month, not every Friday.
